Custom BIG RO Iced-Out Round Pendant — 10K Gold, 10.5 Ct Pavé
Custom BIG RO round pendant in 10K white gold — approx 10.5 ct of micro pavé on a 78 mm disc, built to ride an 18-20 mm Cuban link chain.
Specifications
Some commissions arrive as sketches. This one arrived as two letters and one demand: make them impossible to ignore. The result is the BIG RO pendant — a fully iced round disc, 78.0 mm tall in 10K white gold, carrying approximately 10.5 ct of micro pavé from rim to rim.
Everything about the brief ran oversized. The disc spans 65.0 mm and weighs in around 68 g, the letters stand off the face in solid relief so they catch their own light, and the whole set was sized from day one to ride an 18-20 mm Cuban link chain. Below is the finished piece, photographed exactly as it left the bench.
From Two Letters to a Working Drawing
A build this dense does not start at the bench — it starts on paper. We turned the letters into a technical drawing with front and side views, fixing the disc at 78.0 mm tall, 65.0 mm wide and 8.0 mm thick, mapping where the stone rows would run and how far the letter relief would stand off the face. Only when the client had approved those dimensions line by line did the piece move to production.

Micro Pavé, Letters and All
Micro pavé is the densest way to ice a surface: very small stones set in tight rows, each in its own seat, until the metal almost disappears beneath the light. On this build the field runs across the whole disc — rim, background, and up and over the raised block letters — so the BIG RO reads as a solid wall of sparkle rather than engraving framed by stones.
Underneath the stones, the 10K white gold base is finished to high polish, which keeps the piece flashing even when it tilts away from direct light. In total, the setting adds up to approximately 10.5 ct across the face.
A Set Built for a Chunky Cuban
A 68 g disc swinging on an 18-20 mm Cuban link chain needs a closure that does not trust luck, so this set closes with a box clasp with double safety — the two-stage lock we specify on heavy builds. The proportions were chosen to match the chain, not just survive it: at 8.0 mm thick the disc keeps pace with 18-20 mm links instead of drowning under them, and pendant and chain move as one piece.
How the Order Actually Ran
From first message to doorstep, this commission moved through the same five gates every LGDPRO custom order passes:
- The first message — the client sent the letters and a folder of iced-out references; we quoted the build and agreed the plan.
- The drawing — the dimensioned front and side views above were shared and confirmed before any metal moved.
- The deposit — bench time was booked with a starting deposit, the balance split across milestone and final payments agreed upfront.
- The bench, on camera — progress photos landed at each key stage: wax model, casting, stone setting, final polish.
- The handoff — final inspection, fully insured worldwide delivery with signature on arrival, and live status on the order tracking page until the box was opened.
What Else We Build
Letter pieces are one lane of many. We custom-build names, initials, team logos, portraits, album art and brand marks; two-sided builds that carry a second design on the back; honeycomb back plates that take the weight out of oversized silhouettes; and matched Cuban chains sized to the piece. Bring two letters or two hundred — the first reply comes back as a drawing and a quote.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is 78 mm in real terms?
A touch over three inches tall — a hair more than a hockey puck is wide — and 65.0 mm across. This is a true statement piece, built to be read across a room and to sit in scale on an 18-20 mm Cuban chain rather than hang apologetically.
What does "micro pavé" actually mean?
Very small stones set in dense rows, each stone held in its own bead-raised seat. The smaller the stones, the more of the metal face disappears under light — on this pendant the micro pavé covers the disc and climbs the raised letters, roughly 10.5 ct in total.
How can one pendant carry 10.5 carats?
That figure is total diamond weight — every stone on the piece counted together. A micro pavé field trades a few big stones for a dense spread of small ones, which is why the face reads as one continuous sheet of sparkle instead of a handful of solitaires.
Can you build the chain to match?
Yes. We pair commissions with matched Cuban chains sized to the pendant — this set is fit for 18-20 mm links and closes with a box clasp with double safety.
